US-based family medicine physician, Dr. Austin Orette, on Friday reiterated his vision and plans for the Delta South Senatorial District.

In a message to the wonderful people of Delta South Senatorial District, Orette promised to utilize his contacts in the global community to supplement the efforts of the state government in attracting investments and employment opportunities.
Titled: “Putting the people first”, Orette promised to build a new and strong bridge of prosperity and dignity for Delta South.

The senatorial hopeful listed legal reforms, health care, agriculture, security and restructuring as areas to focus on as a senator.
“The lack of the rule of law has led to our present state of insecurity. Our people need modern hospitals and well-trained staff to attend to them. The building is not a hospital. It is the manpower that is well trained that makes a good hospital. Good and affordable healthcare will reduce the high disease burden amongst our people. We must restructure Nigeria so that our people can take their destiny in their hands. Our District is a gas and oil field but we have no industry that can generate electricity for our people. We cannot be part of modern society without electricity. Providing electricity is necessary to create jobs for our unemployed youth. We must use modern methods of farming and make famine a thing of the past. I will create opportunities; ensure security and abundant living for our people”
He urged the people of the senatorial zone not to settle for past mediocrity that turned politics into a den of criminals.
“Those who are there gained positions through brigandage and they have given nothing back to the voters. The present leaders cannot solve the problems because they are not intellectually equipped to do that. They take orders from those who are not familiar with our terrain and as such have marginalized the Delta South which should be the Bread basket of Nigeria”
He also urged the people to change bench warmers in the National Assembly.
“In a democracy, we have the responsibility to vote out those who have disappointed us by not knowing the reason they were elected. Let us take this responsibility seriously. Those there now are serving themselves while the majority of us are wallowing in abject poverty. We must change our narrative. We cannot afford to continue doing the same over and over and expect a different result. We must as a matter of urgency change the leaders who don’t understand the problems and have no capacity to extricate us from our doldrums”
Particularly, he advised the people to support his senatorial ambition.
“Nigerians believe that supporting my senatorial aspiration is in the best interest of the senatorial zone. I urge you to give massive support. I also urge you to serve as a volunteer by using word of mouth to spread the message of hope so we can be victorious in this endeavor and rekindle hope for the progress and development of our dear senatorial district”
Orette stressed that he stands tall and remains the most competent and qualified aspirant among others.
“I am knowledgeable and well equipped for this task. I am imploring you to volunteer for this project. Sensitize people to the urgency of this moment. This is going to be the most important message of this era. If you want things to change, then you must join me in this endeavor. I want you to elect me to be the voice for your aspiration” he said.

A Nigerian politician, nationalist and pioneering journalist, Chief Ernest Ikoli, has been described as a crusader of truth and a symbol of the struggle against oppression and discrimination in Nigeria.

An All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial aspirant in Delta South, Dr. Austin Orette, has described the assault of women in Oruamudhu community, Ozoro, Isoko North Local Government Area as the ascendancy of evil in the society and a violation of human rights.

In a statement titled ‘’No to sexual abuse in Delta South Senatorial District’’, Orettee criticized individuals and groups disrupting social cohesion in Isoko North Local Government Area.
He demanded stronger protections for women and children in Delta State.
‘’The Delta State Government owes it to the victims to take immediate action’’ he said.
Particularly, Orette condemned harmful practices and the debasing of women in public.

All Progressives Congress (APC) Senatorial Hopeful, Dr Austin Orette, will on Friday speak on the future of Delta South Senatorial District.
Orette, who is running for next year’s Senate Election, will be in Isoko South, Isoko North, Burutu, Bomadi, Patani, Warri South, Warri North and Warri South-West as part of a series of town halls across the senatorial district.

Orette declared his intention to contest for the Delta South Senatorial Seat in the 2027 National Assembly Elections on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) early 2026.
He outlined a vision focused on using his professional skills to empower constituents and reform governance.
He also vowed to fight for a new constitution that decentralizes power from Abuja and empowers local citizens.
His platform includes setting up digital libraries, retraining artisans (welders, carpenters, and mechanics) with modern tools, and encouraging vocational education.
Titled “The way forward”, the Statement said Dr Austin Orette would shed light on healthcare, education, and legal reforms in Nigeria.

Okpe Union, like other responsible ethnic organizations, will only endorse candidates for elective offices who subscribe to the 14 Points Okpe Nation Agenda referenced above. Thus, while Okpe Union is not affiliated with any political party, we remain resolute in our support and endorsement of candidates who are committed to the 14 Points Okpe Na on Agenda. We shall embark on an intensive voter’s education campaign across Okpe Nation, so as to sensitize Okpe nationals on this existential matter ahead of the 2027 elections.
Identifying Okpe Agenda Friendly Candidates
We shall identify Okpe candidates seeking to represent Okpe Na on at any level (local, state, and federal), who are committed to the actualization of the 14 Points Okpe Na on Agenda, irrespective of their political affiliations. Okpe Union shall contact all such candidates to ascertain their positions on the 14 Points Okpe Na on Agenda, before advising Okpe nationals on whom to vote for.

What is London for the Nigerian child? Are we still under colonialism? This program has nothing to improve the child except to give them a false sense of elitism which has destroyed Nigeria.
In these tough economic times, you are asking parents to cough out so much money for the vanity project of indulgent children and nouveaux rich parents who want vicarious existence through their children. I weep for my country.
Nigeria used to be a place where the children of the rich and poor went to the same school without anyone being subjected to any form of alienation. It is becoming very clear that the Nigerian educational system has been bastardized by actions like these.
We send our children to learn and have a better understanding of themselves and the world, but you are teaching them a sense of entitlement. As someone who has travelled around the world, there is nothing any of those kids will gain from this stupid enterprise than egotism that alienates them from their mates. Even if I can afford it, it does not make any economic sense. I will never participate in this hubris you mistake for education. It appears your school has substituted foreign cultures for education.
Teach the Nigerian child how to be Nigerian. Education is supposed to start from the home. It appears a large percentage of the parents are people who came into so much money without a modicum of common sense. This is the reason why they consider it a thing of dignity when their child is being culturally miseducated. This trend where everything foreign is romanticized must stop. We should never raise our children to feel inferior to anyone.
The moral decadence that has become prevalent in Nigeria is due to this wrong education of the Nigerian child and his parents. They employ maids for their children; drive them to school in expensive limousines. At the end, the child grows up entitled and does not have any sense of service or allegiance to his community, as he is trained from childhood that the world owes him a living.
We must teach our children how to serve. Service to others is the rent we pay for the space we occupy. If parents must take their children overseas, that should be done in their private time not under the pretext of education.
A good education will be an excursion to the numerous slums in Lagos and let the children produce an assignment about creating sustainable neighborhoods that are livable.
If you don’t stop this practice, I will make a formal protest to the Ministry of Education and your school and other schools that are introducing this odious culture should be sanctioned.
The Nigerian child must be trained to think instead of making him a consumer of foreign cultures that have disdain for our way of life.
I used to complain of wayward parents who have destroyed Nigeria until I found out that the Nigerian schools are becoming incubating chambers for producing wayward and dysfunctional children who will perpetuate the vicious cycle in the Nigerian decay.
